• Role of the Registrar

  • The mission of the Office of the Registrar is to house, maintain, and protect the confidentiality of student academic record, to provide the higher with accurate academic information and back up services, to monitor the implementation of and adhere to Higher's, and CUNY's policies, and to comply with all Federal and State regulations pertaining to the Family unit Educational Rights and Privacy Deed of 1974 and the rights of students.


    Goals
    1. Maintain and manage registration, build semester form schedules, and student official academic records, with advisable sensitivity to privacy and confidentiality, in compliance to the laws and regulations governing these records.
    2. Provide administrative back up to students as they work towards degree completion besides as certify them for graduation in a timely manner.
    3. Assist the Bookish Standing Committee, Financial Aid, and Advising past gathering data most students failing to meet the satisfactory academic progress.

  • ePermit

    Are you Eligible?

    • You must have a ii.0 cumulative grade point average or higher.
    • You must currently exist enrolled and in omnipresence at LaGuardia Community College. New students are not eligible to have a course on permit.
    • The course must transfer back toward your LaGuardia degree. Please include both the host higher course(s) and abode equivalent course(s) on application.
    • Note: You cannot elect to take course(s) for "Pass/Fail" or "Credit/No Credit" at the host higher. A alphabetic character grade (A, A-, B+, etc.) must be awarded.
    • You may non exceed 18 credits for Session I and 6 credits for Session 2. This includes courses on permit and courses registered at LaGuardia.
    • You may only take the course for which you have received permission.
    • If your request is denied, y'all volition be notified electronically of the reason for the denial.
    • You must accept no stops (negative service indicators) on your record.
    • Non-degree students are not eligible to take a course on permit.
    • All grades of courses taken on permit will be posted to your tape and computed into your overall course signal average. Students receiving a failing grade (WU, F) for a course taken on let volition not benefit from the CUNY F-grade policy.

    How to Use

    1. Log into your CUNYfirst account.
    2. Navigate to Student Centre > Self-Service > Other Academic
    3. Select Epermit option and the appropriate term from the drop-down menu. A separate let should be created for each course.
    4. Select Add Epermit with equivalent courses only. Select the subject and the desired course.
    5. Click the Fetch Equivalent CUNY courses push button. Select the course corresponding to the desired host college for ePermit asking.
    6. Click Epermit Form on the lesser of the folio to continue. Enter Allow type, signal session and then submit. For Fall Session Two (wintertime) permits, select the Fall term and cheque the Winter box. For Spring Session 2 (summertime) permits, select the Jump term and check the Summer box.

    To bank check the status of requested ePermits or to cancel an ePermit asking, follow these steps:

    1. Log into your CUNYfirst account.
    2. Navigate to Student Center > Self-Service > Other Academic
    3. Select the Search Epermit selection from the drop-down carte.
      • All ePermits applied for are listed Initiated. Once approved, they will exist listed as Approved. If rejected they volition exist listed as Denied.
      • To cancel an ePermit request, find the course y'all wish to cancel and click the Cancel ePermit option.
  • Diploma

    LaGuardia has partnered with Parchment to safely and deeply provide graduates with both a digital and physical diploma. An e-mail volition be sent from Parchment with a link to view, download and share your digital diploma, and a hard copy of your diploma volition be mailed to the dwelling house address you have on file in CUNYfirst. Be sure to verify the name and address you have on file:

    • To verify your address, go to the CUNYfirst Educatee Middle, click the "Other Personal…" driblet-down menu and select "Addresses." Click "Edit" if you lot need to brand changes.

    What to Await

    Be sure to go on the following in mind:

    • Your major will non be printed on your diploma.
    • Certificates will not say "associate caste."
    • The name printed on your diploma will be the name you have listed in CUNYfirst.
    • Your diploma will exist mailed to your home address equally listed in CUNYfirst.
    • Please be patient – a printed copy of your diploma will exist mailed a maximum of seven working days later on you receive notification of your digital diploma.
  • Ordering Transcripts

    Current and former students may request unofficial pupil copies or official copies. Nosotros cannot result official copies to students; they are sent direct to colleges and employers. Unofficial copies are for your own records and can printed within your CUNYfirst business relationship.

    Transcript requests from the University Application Processing Middle (UAPC) are only accepted online.

    Privacy of Student Records (FERPA)

    Lodge transcripts online

    Credentials Solutions will send you an email to confirm your order. No official transcripts — simply copies — will be sent to a student's home address.
